Leather and the circular economy

Tanning transforms a waste material from the food industry — raw hides — into a high-quality, long-lasting material. A process that is sustainable by definition and further improved by technology.

Raw material

Raw hides are exclusively a by-product of the food industry. Through tanning, they are recovered and given value, avoiding waste and contributing to a more responsible production model.

Process

Every stage of production is managed with a focus on efficiency, consumption control and compliance with environmental standards. Technological innovation allows us to continually improve production processes while reducing their impact.

Finished product

The result is natural, durable, high-quality leather for the leather goods, furniture, footwear and automotive sectors. A material designed to last and create value.

Sustainability — leather processing

Our certifications

For Conceria Tre Emme, adopting internationally recognised standards is a practical way to ensure quality, transparency and responsibility. Leather Working Group Silver (LWG) certification demonstrates our commitment to the sustainable management of tanning processes, while our progress towards ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 confirms our intention to invest in an environmental management system focused on continuous improvement.

Our production

Sustainability is an integral part of the way we work. That is why we continually invest in improving our facilities, energy efficiency and the optimisation of production processes, with the aim of progressively reducing our environmental impact.

Our solar power system currently meets around 35% of the company’s energy needs, and we are continuing to invest to reach 50%. At the same time, we are continuing our environmental certification programme, working towards ISO 14001 certification alongside our existing LWG certification.
